      Ngày xưa có một ông thương gia giàu có có ba cô con gái. Một hôm phải đi công tác xa và hỏi các con muốn

gì. Cô thứ nhất và cô thứ hai muốn trang sức còn cô út tên là Belle muốn một bông hồng.

      Người cha đã đi nhưng trong khi vận chuyển hàng hóa tàu của ông gặp cướp biển và đã mất hết tài sản. Ông

bị lạc đến một tòa lâu đài. Ở đó ông được tiếp đãi rất chu đáo và đã ngủ một đêm tại đó. Sáng hôm sau ông ra

vườn tìm bông hồng cho Belle và bị quái thú phát hiện. Sau khi kể mọi chuyện quái thú ra lệnh phải đưa con gái út

đến nếu không ông sẽ bị giết. Về nhà thương gia kể lại mọi chuyện cho Belle và cô đã đến với quái thú. Lúc đầu

Belle rất sợ quái thú nhưng rồi quen dần và họ trở nên thân thiết với nhau...
