Shapes of solids – cube, cylinder, cone, sphere.

Starry, are we having a party today?

Balloons, party hats, presents, ice-creams even a cake.

Look at these party hats Starry!

They are of different shapes.

This one is in the shape of the cube. C-u-b-e, cube.

And this Starry, is a cone. C-o-n-e.

And what about this one Starry?

You don’t know this shape. It is a cylinder. C-y-l-i-n-d-e-r.

Oh… more shape Starry, the cake is in the shape of the cube.

And these presents, this is a cube.

And this one is in cylinder.

Starry, don’t you want to know what this shape is.

This ball is shape of the sphere. S-p-h-e-r-e, sphere.

And these beads too a sphere.

You are looking at the ice-creams Starry.

They are cones.

And these candles Starry, are like cylinders.

So Starry, what are the different shapes that we have learnt at this party today?

Yes, we have learnt the c-u-b-e, cube.

The c-o-n-e, cone.

The c-y-l-i-n-d-e-r, cylinder.

The s-p-h-e-r-e, sphere.

Now let’s do an activity together!

This ball is a sphere.

The dice is in the shape of the cube.

And this is a cone.

Now Starry, this present is in the shape of the cylinder.

Oh.. .and a cube, a cube Starry!

A bead is a sphere Starry.

This beautiful cake is in the shape of cylinder.

This is a rubik’s cube, c-u-b-e Starry.

And in this activity Starry, we have to colour the shape.

The cube will be yellow.

The sphere will be red.

The cylinder – green.

And the cone – blue.

Let’s begin with the cube. There are 1-2-3-4 cubes, let’s colour them yellow.

Next the sphere to be coloured red 1-2-3 spheres.

Now these cylinders 1-2-3 are green colour.

Finally the cones 1-2 to be coloured blue.
